Internet Filtering Failures Exposed at Knesset Committee for the Rights of the Child Hearing
At a recent hearing of the Knesset's Committee for the Rights of the Child to discuss the issue of Internet filtering, Netivei Reshet's Yona Pressburger revealed the results of Netivei Reshet latest study on the various filtering packages offered for a fee by Israel's Internet Service Providers (ISPs). The troubling results indicated a severe failure of most of the packages in filtering secure sites on the Internet.
Pressburger's remarks and study findings surprised the committee members, as well as the representative of the Ministry of Communications who was present at the hearing. Knesset Member Orly Levy Abecassis, Chair of the Committee, requested more information from the organization to investigate the matter further.
